Be at home when you're here...

The Berkshires of Western Massachusetts are beautiful any time of year. Let the Blackinton Manor be your cozy aprés ski winter getaway, a home base for fall leaf-peeping scenic drives, a place to rest after spring hiking adventures, or your go-to summer getaway for experiencing local theatre, museums, and restaurants.

The Blackinton Manor is located halfway between both North Adams and Williamstown centers, and is a short drive from every Berkshire County attraction as well as points of interest in New York and Southern Vermont. Whenever you come to the Berkshires (often, we suggest!) we hope you'll stay with us at the Blackinton Manor.

Staying at the Manor

Please consider the Blackinton Manor your home away from home. We have every modern amenity and are excited to accommodate you. For the traveller needing internet access, we have complimentary wifi throughout the property.

In the warmer months, take a refreshing dip in our pool, enjoy your meals in our screened-in porch, or play lawn games in the back gardens.

Our living room is warm and inviting year-round—sit by the fire, play a game, enjoy light music or read a book. We hope you'll be comfortable during your stay, and do let us know if we can do anything to enhance your time at the Blackinton Manor.

Breakfast

We provide a hearty, gourmet breakfast starting with French-press coffee, a selection of Harney & Sons teas, and juices.

We usually begin with fruit, skyr, and pastry, then follow with a fresh egg bake, breakfast meat, and vegetable or potato. Many of our ingredients are locally sourced when available and seasonally appropriate, or come fresh from our own gardens.

We are happy and able to accommodate your dietary restrictions; let us know prior to your arrival so we can prepare a delicious menu for you. We can also provide a quick to-go breakfast if needed.

History of the Manor and the Blackinton Neighborhood

The manor building and grounds were the original estate of wealthy textile manufacturer Sanford Blackinton, who hoped to create a small village near his woollens mill to house and accommodate all of his employees. The original manor building dates to 1825 but was not converted to a B&B until the 1990s.

The Blackinton neighborhood housed a school, shops and houses for factory workers and their families, a post office, library and jail. The Blackinton Mills factory today is home to local businesses, and the neighborhood is on the National Historic Register.
